Dania Johnson ’26 Discovers a Love for Research Thanks to Scholarship Support
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to my donor for providing me with the opportunity to pursue research. Initially, I was intimidated by the idea of conducting research, but thanks to this fully funded opportunity, I was able to face that fear—and I've discovered how much I truly enjoy it. This experience has opened a new door for me, allowing me to explore clinical questions and grow in ways I never imagined.
What’s most humbling is knowing that someone who doesn’t even know me personally believes in my journey. I hope my work is making you proud, and I am truly honored by your generosity.”
— Dania Johnson, Keck School of Medicine Class of 2026 and a Dean’s Research Scholar.
Before coming to the Keck School, Dania had little experience in research. Today, she’s working to become a skilled physician-scientist—thanks in part to the support of alumni like you. Freed from financial hardship, Dania is able to dedicate herself fully to her training, exploring her passion for research and growing into the kind of physician she once only dreamed of becoming.
