USC Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE)
Who Are We?
We are the USC Chapter of IEEE (Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers). Following the same principles as our international organization, which is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity, we serve as an academic and networking resource for engineering students interested in electrical engineering and computer science. Outside of academia and industry, we also host philanthropy and social events to not only strengthen our team, but our surrounding communities.
USC IEEE focuses on philanthropy to help students in the Los Angeles area discover a passion for engineering and science. We host events, like Smart On, where IEEE volunteers teach engineering projects to middle and high school students with the help of a professor.
This semester, to be able to host more Smart On events we need to purchase supplies to help us to teach students about advanced circuits. Our goal is to raise enough to money to buy Snap Circuit kits for each student. Each Snap Circuit kit costs $25.00, and we have on average 22 students. If we can raise $625.00, IEEE can provide these kits to our students. Additional funds raised will help with transportation costs for our students to attend Smart On and allow us to host more frequently. Our hope is that through our fundraising efforts we’ll have enough means to expand our reach without compromising quality.
We are trying to raise $1,000 to in support of our Smart On events by purchasing Snap Circuit kits for our students and support transportation costs for students. Any extra funding will be used to provide food for the students, faculty, and volunteers during our Smart On events.
Please make a gift TODAY! A gift of any size would be greatly appreciated. We cannot do this without your support!
Thank you in advance for your gift.
