Happy Chanukah from USC Hillel!

During Chanukah we sing, kol echad hu or katan, v’chulanu or eitan which translates to each of us brings a little light, together our light has might

At USC Hillel we know that the strength of the Jewish Trojan Family is built upon hundreds of individual student stories and Jewish journeys. We empower and provide students with opportunities to form personal connections to Jewish life through programs, initiatives, and clubs that relate to their interests, aspirations, and identities.

This Chanukah we invite you to add your piece of light to our or eitan: our mighty light. By making a Giving Tuesday, Chanukah, or year-end gift you can help us personalize Jewish experiences for hundreds of Trojans, connecting them to the Jewish people in a way that engenders true and lasting meaning. We thank you for investing in the Jewish future.

Sponsor a Student Created Initiative:

You can dedicate your year-end giving to one of one the student created initiatives below. To learn more about sponsoring a project, please email Jordyn@uschillel.org or call 213-973-1202.

Bringing Shabbat Warmth: As part we do our part to promote public health, each Friday USC Hillel students transform our parking lot into a charming outdoor dining terrace. As we transition into the winter months, USC Hillel's Shabbat Committee is seeking funding for additional outdoor heaters, custom blankets, and other small touches to keep Shabbat dinner warm and cozy.

Hillel Community Garden: Support USC Hillel’s Wellness Committee in their efforts to cultivate a community garden. Coupling sustainability and holistic wellness, the garden will provide students with opportunities to reduce stress, connect with the earth, and expand their Jewish community while growing herbs and vegetables that will be used for Shabbat dinner. Funding is needed to provide landscaping, wheelchair friendly garden beds, and hydroponic planters. Naming opportunities available, please email Jordyn@uschillel.org

Affinity Groups at Hillel: USC Hillel’s niche clubs or affinity groups are student-led and provide opportunities for “Jewish and” students to connect with other Trojans who share aspects of their identity. These groups provide the space for students to gather and share experiences while meeting students with similar backgrounds. Our affinity groups include Nice Jewish Queers (NJQ), Persian Community at Hillel (PCH), Russian Community of Hillel (RCH), Mishelanu Israeli-American club, Shir Perfection A cappella group, and Hillel Senior Society. Funding provides group experiences including but not limited to offsite Shabbat dinners, social retreats, and speaker series.

Please note, USC Hillel is able to flourish because of people like you. Our organization does not receive financial assistance from the university and depends on contributions from parents, alumni, and community members. Our students depend on Hillel as a loving campus home, as an advocate for their campus experience, as a foundation for their holistic wellness, and as an incubator for Jewish leadership. We thank you for your generosity.
