USC SASE - Road to the 2022 SASE West Regional Conference

USC SASE is the University of Southern California chapter of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE). We are an entirely student-run organization dedicated to preparing Asian heritage scientists and engineers for success in education and employment so they can achieve their full career potential, and to celebrate diversity on campus and in the workplace.

Our SASE Chapter
Our chapter was founded in 2018 and works to increase community involvement and impact through collaboration with other cultural and professional organizations on campus. We support our members’ career pursuits in every possible way because we strongly believe in the success of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Many of our programs focus on the challenges and leadership opportunities ahead of full-time employment and our events are prepared for members in all stages of their professional growth, ranging from finding their first internship to advice for preparing for full-time employment. Beyond this, we strongly believe in the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Our chapter works towards providing a space for our members to grow, explore their intersecting identities, and find a community of like-minded individuals through our numerous professional, social, and cultural events. USC SASE is quickly expanding across our university and the local community.

Our Mission
One of SASE’s biggest events during the spring semester is the West Regional Conference (WRC), where SASE chapters on the west coast will have the opportunity to connect with each other and build long-lasting relationships with mentors and peers alike. Members are given the opportunity to engage with companies and other chapters through bonding activities, professional workshops, and networking events. These events teach important topics both for professional and personal growth, such as leadership, technology and entrepreneurship, diversity and inclusion, and more. Certain executives from sponsors will also speak on their experiences directly to attendees and provide valuable advice. All of these exceptional events will take place over the course of three days. In 2022, WRC will take place at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas over the course of three days. With a return to in-person events, USC SASE is preparing to fund the entire cost of members traveling to and attending SASE’s West Regional Conference.

Our Goal
Our chapter aims to raise $2,000 to help with the expected costs of supporting our members to attend the 2022 SASE West Regional Conference. Gifts raised will help alleviate the financial burden for our members by helping to support the costs for transportation (to and from the conference), lodging (if necessary), ticket costs/registration fees, and daily meals.

Without the support of our local community, USC SASE would not be able to carry out our mission and support our members in their endeavors. Your support will help our chapter, members, and community greatly. All gifts made, regardless of the size, will make a difference!

Thank you very much for your support of USC SASE!
