Once a small student-run station broadcasting from the University of Southern California campus, KUSC is now the largest and most listened to public radio and non-profit classical music station in the United States.
The plans for KUSC were hatched near the end of WWII in bustling downtown Los Angeles. At the time, Los Angeles was the nation’s capital for radio and motion picture production—and television was on the rise.
KUSC is listener-supported and the need for that support is more important than ever. We’ve postponed our usual Spring Membership drive so we can keep playing the music without long fundraising breaks—but we do ask that if you can make a contribution, please do so. Just like you, we’re getting creative so we can work from home and keep bringing you calming, inspiring music. When you need a break from the news, we’re here 24/7 playing the music you love and providing a much-needed break and respite from the news. We really appreciate your support right now. You can help keep the music playing by making a donation.
USC has established four funds in response to the COVID-19 crisis to help support all areas of the Trojan community. These funds include the USC Student Basic Needs Fund, Keck Medicine of USC COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, USC Community Outreach Fund, and USC Employee Support Fund.
