About the Trojan Barbell Club
Founded in Spring 2016, the Trojan Barbell club is USC’s one and only powerlifting club, providing a unique opportunity to USC’s students. Our goals are to send lifters to powerlifting competitions, teach people how to be functionally strong, and provide a fun and supportive group for anyone who wants to get stronger or learn more about the sport of powerlifting. Our team travels to meets, lifts together at biweekly practices, and provides seminars throughout the year on proper form, nutrition, injury prevention, and more. We work with world champion powerlifters to develop specifically targeted programs for our members, and those members can contact those same champions for advice about a variety of topics through our club. In the future, we hope to teach more people in the USC community about the sport and become a more competitive team at the national level.
Your donations are invaluable to us as we send our first ever squad of lifters to the USAPL Collegiate Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, this April. All donations are tax deductible, and will help pay for our lifters’ registrations for the meet, transportation to the meet, and lodging while in the city of Columbus. Any money above our target goal that we raise during this fundraiser has additional benefits, such as paying for competition specific equipment, purchasing team gear, and even throwing team building events such as mock meets!
We appreciate you taking the time to read about us and donate to our team. Every little bit counts. Don’t forget to check the charitable matching gift look up to see if your company matches gifts! Thank you once again for supporting us on this journey. FIGHT ON!
