Founded in 1975, KXSC Radio (formerly KSCR) is the 100% student-run radio station of the University of Southern California; we are volunteer, non-profit, donation funded and we provide the USC community with original radio programming 24 hours a day.
We provide students with hands-on broadcast experience, support emerging artists, promote Los Angeles culture, and document USC events.
We create unique educational opportunities for students, provide a supportive community for creative expression, and broadcast the sounds of USC to the world.
Every Spring we put on KXSC Fest, a one-of-a-kind music, arts, and film festival that brings together USC’s student community to create a unique experience through forward thinking talent curation and creative approaches to venue and environment design.
We Need Your Help
Due to dwindling funding, college radio stations are facing program closures across the country and we're trying to prevent this from happening at USC.
KXSC does not receive any guaranteed funding from USC, and every year we earn less and less from PSA underwriting donations. Student staff and DJs pay membership dues every semester, but when it comes to planning a large-scale music festival, we can't do it alone.
In order to make KXSC Fest bigger and better than ever, we need all the help we can get, so we are putting on a fundraiser through the end of December 2015. If you've ever enjoyed KXSC's programming and events, now is the time to give back!
Ways You Can Help
We're hoping to raise $10,000 to fund KXSC Fest 2016.
Any gift, no matter the amount, helps make KXSC Fest possible! You'll be showered in appreciation, sweet perks, and gain personal access to the work of the station. Plus, you'll get all the warm fuzzy feelings of having joined a super rad club with exceptional taste in radio.
By making a gift today, you're not just supporting a unique educational experience but you're also supporting the culture of live music. Investing in KXSC Fest means investing in a sustainable future for college radio, which not only trains and empowers students, but promotes alternative culture, and provides (literally) a stage for the new and exciting music coming out of USC and Los Angeles
Can't spare the funds? No worries. We're poor college students, we understand. You can still help in other ways! Share our campaign with everyone you know, both in-person and online, and proudly let the world know that you SUPPORT COLLEGE RADIO AND INDEPENDENT MUSIC FESTIVALS!
