As a former student at USC and the current Physical Therapy Multicultural Leadership Alliance (PTMLA) Faculty Advisor, I have seen first-hand how this organization helps shape clinicians who demonstrate passion for expanding the physical therapy profession and truly want to make a difference through outreach in underserved communities. PTMLA has had a huge impact on me, and I have been so impressed with the servant leadership this student-run group has demonstrated through service abroad in Mexico and Costa Rica, and in local outreach initiatives at elementary and high schools where students are exposed to the physical therapy profession as a noble and viable option to build a better future.
Thank you to everyone who has a made a gift this season! So far, we have raised more than $1,000 toward our current $4,500 goal to help off-set some of the costs to attend USC. Last year, PTMLA awarded two scholarships to incoming first-year DPT students dedicated to making a difference in underserved communities through the support of donors and friends. Every dollar helps move us closer to achieving our goal to award two new scholarships to deserving, incoming students again this fall. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Please feel free to promote/share our fundraising page with your friends and family via social media and other forms of communication so we can hit our goal. Thanks!
