Our Mission

Founded in Spring 2020, SC Formula Electric is USC's dedicated all-electric race car design team! As a team we work together to design, fabricate, and drive a fully electric-powered race car. Our mission is to design, manufacture, and test a fully functioning vehicle so that we can compete at the 2025 Formula SAE Electric Competition in Brooklyn, Michigan this summer. Support from donors will help cover some of our vehicle's production costs (e.g. supplies and materials), travel and lodging expenses to attend the competition, and any other associated costs for our trip.

Our Team

SC Formula Electric is comprised of a talented and diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students. We provide our members with hands-on experience throughout the vehicle production process, as well as the opportunity to bring the vehicle to an annual competition. Members learn to work with CAD modeling, dynamic modeling, design testing, high voltage systems, hand and power tools, thermodynamics, circuitry, and many more high-value technical skills that will directly translate to high-demand engineering and manufacturing professions after they leave USC.

Our Goal

We are trying to raise as much money as we can so that we can send at least 20 of our team members to the Formula SAE competition. We are starting out with a goal of $3,000 to help support the costs of the parts and supplies we need to complete our race car. Any additional funds we raise will go towards transportation, lodging, and any other expenses and fees associated with the competition…which we also need!

This intimate involvement with our processes is crucial for training the next generation of professional engineers responsible for future critical engineering design, logistical, and administrative decisions.
