USC Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at USC is a student organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting the next generation of engineers. SWE strives to expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving quality of life, encouraging all students to envision themselves in STEM careers.
Through our “Introduce a Student to Engineering” campaign, we are excited to fund a one-day event for students in grades 6-8 from underserved communities near USC. This event will provide an immersive, hands-on introduction to the world of engineering, featuring interactive stations and activities led by enthusiastic USC student volunteers from various engineering disciplines.
SWE-USC aims to ignite a passion for STEM in young students by offering them a chance to explore engineering in a supportive environment. We are committed to challenging gender stereotypes in engineering and believe it is essential to encourage students to celebrate their interest in math and science.
With a goal to raise $2,000, we are seeking support to host middle school students on campus, providing transportation, program supplies, and meals to ensure a full, engaging day of learning. Contributions to this campaign will help us inspire students from all backgrounds to see themselves as future engineers and innovators.
