Our Mission
This summer, we’re heading to the 2025 Formula SAE Competition at the Michigan International Speedway to complete with other high-level racing teams from across the country. Every year, our members spend countless hours designing and building our race car with the goal to have a fully functioning car that can compete (and win!) against other schools. With support from Trojan alumni, parents, and friends, we have been able to represent USC at this prestigious event every year.
What is the Formula SAE Competition?
FSAE International represents the pinnacle of student ingenuity and dictates the design and build processes of our race cars. The competition consists of a rigorous design event and dynamic track events where the team is judged on the creativity and validation of engineering decisions before competing at full speed. SC Racing aims to finish top 10 over the 120+ race cars in attendance. Throughout the week, the competition provides tremendous opportunities and experiences to young engineers to learn from industry professionals.
Our Background
SC Racing is a student-led design team that builds 1 of 1 prototype race cars for international competition every year as University of Southern California’s chapter of Formula SAE. Our team consists of a diverse group of 70+ members, ranging from freshmen to graduate students with representatives from across Viterbi and all of USC. We strive for excellence in our character and teamwork which translates to excellence at the top level of collegiate racing!
Our Goal
To help us get to the FASE competition, our team is trying to raise $8,000 to cover travel and lodging expenses for our dedicated team members, supplies and materials for the car, and other associated costs related to the competition. Only with your support can we reach our goal to complete our racecar and make it to the 2025 Formula SAE International!

All RSOs are approved by the university and are student-run and student-led. RSOs are affiliated with the university but not part of the university. All RSOs operate with open membership and any currently enrolled USC student may join. RSOs also operate within the university’s non-discrimination policy:
